Sa'imah refers to animals that graze for the majority of the year.
These animals are primarily kept for purposes such as:
Milk production.
Breeding.
Raising for pleasure or fattening.
If the animals are fed with fodder brought from home, or if they are used for:
Carrying loads.
Ploughing or other work.
Riding.
Even if these animals graze, they are not considered Sa'imah, and Zakat is not obligatory on them.
Camel Nisab (Threshold):
The Nisab for camels is five.
Zakat is not obligatory on less than five camels.
For five camels, one-year-old sheep or goat is obligatory.
For ten camels, two sheep or goats are required.
For fifteen camels, three sheep or goats are required.
For twenty camels, four sheep or goats are required.
From 25 to 35 camels, a one-year-old female camel is required.
From 36 to 45 camels, a two-year-old female camel is required.
From 46 to 60 camels, a three-year-old female camel is required.
From 61 to 75 camels, a four-year-old female camel is required.
